Exam Portal – what a wonderful way to support learners. It is now the third year since Trio Primary introduced Exam portal to our learners with great success. We thank all roll players that supported us in taking the step to use Exam Portal to support our learners that qualifies for accommodations. Feedback from our learners: “It is cool”. “I don’t have to wait for someone to read to me”. It boosts their self-image. They can read and reread as often as they wish and they are happy and confident in helping themselves. Even the Grade 4 learners manage to use the reading program soon after it was introduced for the first time. It benefits the school as we only have to make use of a single invigilator during tests. The school pays a yearly fee and make use of the computers in the computer lab. We do not need a reader and invigilator for each learner or group. Parents are not requested to pay for hiring additional readers. A further benefit is that when using the Exam Portal the human factor is eliminated. No emotions are being communicated by voice, facial expressions or body language. With no human influences you get a real picture of the learners’ performances. Instead of using a scribe we introduced learners to use Lily Speech in accordance to Exam Portal. Although we have only started this a couple of weeks ago we already experience the benefits. Personnel at Exam Portal are always ready to assist immediately whether it is technical, information or any other support. We at Trio Primary experience the positive contribution of Exam Portal to the education of learners and we urge you to keep up the good work.
