Silvermine Academy started using Exam Portal in 2023 for our internal assessments and NSC exams. As a small and inclusive school, managing in-person accommodations became a huge logistical problem. The exam portal has significantly reduced costs for the school by minimizing the need for scribes and physical venue space. We currently have two computer labs in use—one dedicated to Grade 12 students and another serving Grades 8 to 11—all utilizing the software. Students are steadily gaining confidence in using the platform, and many are now able to complete their exams independently. The support provided has been exceptional. Whenever I reach out to the support team, they respond promptly—often resolving issues on the same day. On one occasion, they even arranged a Microsoft Teams meeting to walk me through the steps and clarify what I was doing incorrectly. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the software and the level of support we’ve received.

As the number of learners who qualify for a Reader accommodation increased, Prospectus Novus School now uses Exam Portal as Text-to-Speech support during formal assessments for these learners . This replaces a person as a reader for each individual child and multiple learners are now accommodated in a computer room with a single invigilator. Learners prefer the independent use of the computer compared to a person as a reader which makes them feel less anxious. There is no need for educators to make voice recordings of their assessments as previously required for audio aid, as they only upload a PDF version of their question papers on the portal. Support from the Exam Portal team is always professional and queries are addressed proficiently.

Exam Portal – what a wonderful way to support learners. It is now the third year since Trio Primary introduced Exam portal to our learners with great success. We thank all roll players that supported us in taking the step to use Exam Portal to support our learners that qualifies for accommodations. Feedback from our learners: “It is cool”. “I don’t have to wait for someone to read to me”. It boosts their self-image. They can read and reread as often as they wish and they are happy and confident in helping themselves. Even the Grade 4 learners manage to use the reading program soon after it was introduced for the first time. It benefits the school as we only have to make use of a single invigilator during tests. The school pays a yearly fee and make use of the computers in the computer lab. We do not need a reader and invigilator for each learner or group. Parents are not requested to pay for hiring additional readers. A further benefit is that when using the Exam Portal the human factor is eliminated. No emotions are being communicated by voice, facial expressions or body language. With no human influences you get a real picture of the learners’ performances. Instead of using a scribe we introduced learners to use Lily Speech in accordance to Exam Portal. Although we have only started this a couple of weeks ago we already experience the benefits. Personnel at Exam Portal are always ready to assist immediately whether it is technical, information or any other support. We at Trio Primary experience the positive contribution of Exam Portal to the education of learners and we urge you to keep up the good work.

The response from students was overwhelmingly positive. With the support of the software’s built-in Reader and Typing functions, many felt more independent and confident during their assessments. Some of their feedback included: “Exciting!” “So much easier than using a reader—I’m in control now.” “Initially I was scared to type, but managed really well in the end.” We extend our heartfelt thanks to V Software, who partnered with us throughout the setup process and offered hands-on support every step of the way.

Our first experience with Exam Portal was extremely positive. As an LSEN school with around 100 students—around 80% of whom require concessions—we found it to be both accessible and affordable. We introduced the platform for our June examinations, and our students completed many hours of practice with full support from the Exam Portal team throughout the process. We used both the cloud-based and Windows versions of the system and found them user-friendly and reliable. What stood out most was the responsiveness of the support team. They welcomed our feedback and engaged meaningfully with our many suggestions, most of which were implemented. Where changes weren’t possible immediately, clear explanations were provided. Since 2024, Laddsworth Primary School has successfully integrated the E-Portal system for learners in Grades 4 to 7. We are highly satisfied with the platform and have observed significant benefits, particularly during examination periods. The E-Portal has greatly reduced the logistical challenges of sourcing human readers to support learners who require accommodations and concessions during formal assessments. V-Soft Technologies, through their Exam Portal, has supported many of our boys to reach their full potential through the use of the electronic reader and computer software. At Kearsney College’s COIN Centre for further inclusion and counselling support, we work very closely with V-Soft. They provide expert solutions and services for when our pupils complete any assessment, whether final IEB examinations or Grade 8 – 12 internal assessments, cycle tests and examinations. The portal is easy to use and we have immediate and consistent support whenever needed.
